My mum was in A&E for the second time in 2 days due to a respiratory problem. And he was amazing from the start he was aware of my mum's case, listened attentively to what we had to say and got straight down to it. He didn't dismiss any of our concerns and was reassuring. Got everything done really quickly and explained every step. My mum was really nervous about having an arterial gas, as she has had a bad experience in the past and he made it a positive and she didn't feel any pain and it was over quickly. Cannot sing his praises enough.

Jos was empathetic and attentive when I saw him in A&E and, ultimately, his testing of my condition and his diagnosis was spot on: there was need for concern and further investigation. He could have gate-kept the hospital's services but correctly determined that I needed them. The outcome: an emergency discectomy that very same day to decompress nerves trapped by a herniated disc in lower back.

Very friendly and affable. He had a student doctor with him and you could tell they really respected him which was reassuring for me.

I was sent to St. George’s yesterday because I had a severe chest infection. I previously went to epsom hospital 2 days before where I was treated with antibiotics but actually got much worse and I couldn’t breath properly at all nor speak a full sentence without having to stop 2 or 3 times to catch my breathe thus resulting in me returning needing oxygen, a nebuliser and another X-ray to see why my condition had worsened. Dr Jos was incredible, he quickly realised that I needed steroids as the inflammation To my chest and breathing pipes was causing my oxygen levels to drop and my lung efficiency was working only at 40%. Without Jos I would have had no idea. He also told me I probably had a combination of viral and bacterial infection or more likely just viral and the antibiotics alone would not of helped. His bedside manor wasn’t faultable. Professional, friendly, understanding, kind and actually listened to me and took his time to make sure I was ok. Having a chronic condition I have had more admissions than I could count on my hands and he was the best doctor I’ve had through out anyone by a country mile. He knew because of these admissions I did not want to stay unless it was absolutely essential so he did his absolute upmost to get me back home to recover without it threatening my health. He made sure my mum would be with me at all times at home, explained to me and even spoke to my mum on the phone to make sure we knew what to look out for and if I got any of these to come back straight away, no questions asked. The prescription script did unfortunately have the wrong name on so I had to walk all the way to pharmacist which is on the other side of the hospital (not practical i must add) to be told it was a 2 hour wait but the name was wrong and walk back, this really took a toll on me considering I can’t walk with this condition more a few feet without being breathless or feeling faint. He was still writing all my notes when I returned and saw how unwell I was so he sat me back down and sourced the medication I needed straight away from the a & e department. He did this because he knew I wasn’t strong enough or capable to walk there and back again. I can honestly say he has been the best doctor to me out of a good 40 that I’ve had and given me the best care and treatment I’ve ever received even over my private health doctors. You are very lucky to have this wonderful doctor on your team. Jos if you get the chance to read this I just want to thank you so much for your care. It won’t be forgotten and I’m very grateful. Elizabeth
